I am totally biased, but yes, the first gen's are the best. I'm jealous that you found one for $600. It's great to have another 1st gen. owner in our midst.

Nice score dude!

And WELCOME TO THE FIRST GEN CLUB! :thumb: :saweet: :pimp1:

today was my first full day to work on it, man im so happy with it. the only real rust i found on it was the floor next to the rockers. as is right now it has 35 inch muds, 4 inch lift with a 2 inch body lift. the old owner told me that he just put the lift on about a year ago, along with a rebuilt trans and motor. after he finshed all of that he just let it sit. so im thinking a tune up, rebuild the carb, and drain the tank and im good to go :D

cant wait to drive it, thanks for the comments. and welcomeing me to the 1st gen club

my dad said that he would do the carb for me. and im thinking about dumping the points system and going to hei

Great find!

Build it, drive it.
Once you go blazer ya never go back. :D

I lived in Chandler years ago, nice area.

Looks like a great K5. I got my 70 K5 for $600 or 650, don't remember, but unfortunately it has yet to be driven. You got a good deal

Nice score !!!! I sure do miss my first K5. Was a 72 with a 454, sm465/NP-205 and many different axles till it ended up with 1 tons. Biggest mistake I ever made was selling it. I don't miss the 76, but I do miss the 72. I will get another one someday.

Great score!!! There's 5 or 6 in my area that I know of. There's a pretty nice 1st gen Jimmy sitting behind the Chevy dealer. Its been parked with expired tags for about 6 months. I'm keeping my eye on it.

Score!

Welcome to the family!

Now you can experience the joy of shooing off 2 or 3 people every month asking you "Are you selling the Blazer?", notes left on your doorstep, "You wanna trade for my '82. It has a bigger lift!", etc., etc.

As much as I enjoy turning a wrench, HEI is the easy way to go. Dropping in a distributorless GenIII small block is probably better, but $$$.

I put a inexpensive Mallory HEI into my Blazer years ago. She starts when I want her to and stubborn plug-fouling issues went away.
