Looking for a new 83-84 Chevy Bowtie

Hi,
I've been looking for a new Chevy Bowtie for my 1983-1984 K5 with dual headlights for quite a while, but it seems to be impossible to find one. I have looked through lmc-truck, classicparts (formerly known as chevy duty) , gmpartscheap.com and classicindustries, but they only have them for '86 and up (and partly for the earlier years too, but not for 83 -84)
I have a new grille, new bezels and new center moldings but no new emblem and I don't want to reinstall the old and faded one.
So, does anyone of you guys know, where I might get one?

'83-84 is the only year huh?

They may still be available from GM, you might try emailing GMpartsdirect.com and see if they will look it up for you. My parts manual doesn't go back far enough for you or I'd look. Maybe someone here will search for you if they see this and they have access.

I noticed you hadn't mentioned eBay. I'd ty there if you haven't yet. You might also put up a post in the "Parts Wanted" classified section, too.

Hi guys,

thanks a lot for your answers. I have already checked gmpartsdirect and gmpartscheap and I'm a kind of ebay-addict already ;-) but I didn't find any new ones yet... LMC has a kind of replacement emblem, but I think that this is just a 85 one that has to be "glued on" (->according to LMC truck) and I don't want to glue something on my brand new grille or drill holes or something....

Well, let's keep on looking, maybe I'll find one at ebay today

I'm not familiar with what how the '83-'84 emblem mounts on to the grille. Does it bolt on with two nuts on the back? There's on one eBay right now like that. It's gold but it only lists up to 1980...

Yes, it has the 2 bolts on the back. I checked the part-number my old, used one:14043882

It would look really nice if you had one made out of stainless. The one that you need looks very similiar to the one that I replaced on my '91 s-10.
