looking for chrome shocks/steering stabilizer

Hmmm I dont follow. .030 over is equivilent to 5gained cubes...

374+5 = not 383

did you take into acount for the added stroke?

you are correct that on a stock stroke of 3.48 a .030 oversize bore would yeild 355.1 ci, but add in the 3.750 stroke and you get 382.6 to be exact.

I believe the math works out like this...the 350 block with the 4 inch bore and a 400 crank with a 3.75 inch stroke will give 377 cubes.

pi x r x r x stroke x cylinders

3.1416 x 2 x 2 x 3.75 x 8 = 377

If the 350 is bored 0.030 over, the diameter of the bore would be 4.030 and combined with the 3.75 inch stroke, we'd get...

3.1416 x 2.015 x 2.015 x 3.75 x 8 = 383

A 400 smallblock + a 350 crank is a 374 correct? So theres your stroke gains/loss finished. Add to it .030 bore and you get a 5 cube gain yielding 379. Am I missing something?

You need to get the idea that an .030" overbore = 5 c.i. That number is only accurate on a standard 350 Chevy V-8 engine with the stock bore and stroke. Different combinations of stroke and bore will result in different gains of displacement with a .030" overbore.

Chrome shocks are over-rated. Now, chrome lift blocks -- as I said, in the front, particularly -- plus maybe chrome springs would really do the trick.

Though while we're on about engine parts, I think chroming the crank and the piston rings would really bring out the pimp...

Good luck finding the shocks YOU are looking for. Very nice blazer you have there.

but i dont really see how the engine displacment relates to chrome shocks? :haha:

because the front chrome shocks increase the bore and the rear chrome shocks increase stroke. duh. bling bling, G.
