Looking for Rear Bumper Idea's

For those of you running wrap around style bumpers on the rear, is there any support from the wrap around part to the frame? Or is it solely supported from the main bumper?

Mine does but it goes back to the bumper. Here's a pic:

Dam Shawn, you truck has always been my favorite.
I thought you had to let it go but I'm really glad to see it's and your
still around. Does it still lift the front tires off the ground when you get it?
Let me know if you want to do some wheelin this summer.
Your truck makes us Sheet metal gang guys drool.
.
Here's my rear bumper. I can come up with a better shot if you need.

Definitely needs the support on the outer bend. The top bar provides some, but it needs the triangulation to help keep it from folding in when smacking trees or rocks. You have to excuse the crappy picture, but you can see the support running back to the frame mount...

Due to finances last year, I almost had to let it go but its still in my garage. I only had to get rid of my Trans Am WS6 which I still miss. Currently working on getting the 4L80 installed and the K5's new engine. I should have more tq and hp from the new setup so we'll see. The only thing is I'm going from a manual to an auto so that will be more difficult to do that. Hmmm... I wonder if they make a transbrake for a 4L80...:wink1: Should be on the road once again so this summer sounds great for wheeling.

PM me your phone number and home address. I always talk about your mansion when I drive by but Toby said you sold it last year.

Bumper On

I got the bumper gas/tire carrier made and put on my 1987 Blazer.

Ok I saw one of these on eBay and wanted to get one for my Blazer but could only find for a Jeep. I searched the internet and only could find a few weak looking tube type.
So i emailed the guy on eBay and asked if he would make me one for my truck. The guys name was Chris and he said he would and gave me the price.

He has a web site called crboffroad.com and you can see some of his work there. He is located in Greenville, Ohio. Chris said if anyone was interested in one to email him
at [email protected] Chris is a wonderfull person to work with and did a great job.

Here it is with cans and jack before it was mounted. I used a rust killer/sealer and will put bed liner on it after I paint the truck.

I covered the hitch box with my plate since I had a draw hitch on already.
