Hey guys I’ve got an 89 I’m building as a family cruiser and mild off-roader. Just got the lift complete and now I’m working on the interior and I’m looking for rear panel ideas since mine are falling apart. Please post pics of what you’ve done. I know I’m going to flush in a sub and speakers, also thinking of flushing in a storage compartment/cubby for smaller items or a compressor. I know I want to add some 12v and/or usb outlets but I’m having a hard time finding anything other than china junk, any one have recommendations for some quality stuff?

Thanks,

Chris

just for sumfin a bit different, i have a pair of unfinished badarse panels.... composite fiberglass, pretty much indestructible, weatherproof, yada.... was gonna cut em for speakers, maybe a custom cubby in back, or sub enclosures off em... paint em black... even for an upholstery option over it, most bulletproof backer eva.... :saweet: sh*t sits outside at work for decades....

that said, the material for both is like 2 hundy probably.. :haha: :doah: ;)

While I don't have any pictures or drawings, I want to make a multiple compartment box in one side of my '90. I am planning on making it even with the wheel well since it occupies so much of the floor. The top can open for access, but have a shelf or floor part way down and then a rear facing door for access to other stuff. You could put a compressor in there, maybe store a hose in there too.
I already removed the factory speakers and installed 6x9 one at the front of the rear seat. (Ashtray area)

Curious to see what you do though.

My originals look okay.

I was planning on using a diamond plate if these did not work out.

Covered some 1/2” plywood with 8” full range speakers and amp exposure cutout. Covered in same vinyl as interior.

How do you like your soft top? Easy to put up and take down? After rebuilding the front end, that will probably be my next addition. Nice rig.

Thinking something along these lines...

Very nice. I was thinking of something similar using that 1/4" hardwood plywood they sell at sLowe's and Homeless Depot. Lot of dead space behind that panel that could be used for a ton of things. Air, tow straps, tire chains, padding for a sleeping bag.

Sorry I missed this. 4” ORD lift, ORD springs up front, with shackle flip and 1” blocks in rear, 35x12.5R17’s

Are those Method wheels? What backspacing? I was looking at those but wasn't sure the backspacing would work
