It likely only controls the EGR, as that is about the only emissions part on a mechanically injected 6.2. What input's it uses, I don't know.

Yeah no worries mate, I refitted it and everything seems to work ok, I was being paranoid/curious as to what it was for, some things are best alone, I just hate computers in daily driver though, I like to be able to fix on the side of the road, but I doubt this thing would leave ya stranded aye, worst case scenario, hot wire to IP and start and drive sweet I love diesels
