Lost and Found - LS3 6L80 NP205 Full Frame Off

They got the powder coated frame back!!! I'm on vacation so I haven't seen it yet but here's the pic they just sent me.

I'll get better pics of this and the axles soon. Yeah!!!!

is that the stock engine cross member? i would've recommended pulling that out prior to that beautiful powder coating job!

all the LS swaps i've read about, the stock engine cross member won't clear your LS oil pan. TNA and ORD cross members have been used by quite a few members on here with the LS swaps.
if it was already taken off and reinstalled, then it probably doesn't have the stock rivets any more so you've got nothin to worry about it really. the stock rivets sucked, and you'd destroy a lot of powder coating trying to remove em.

Oh I gotcha. I used the Holley g body conversion mounts and I've seen them installed in a k10 without issues. They are meant to clear ls motors with clamshell mounts with the factory cross member.

Im coming from a big block so I wasn't sure if the cross members are the same as small blocks? I wanted to be able to swap them if needed.

Just as an FYI to drew, I put a 5.3 in my 90 suburban and it cleared the engine cross member with plenty of room.

Ordered my axle hardware yesterday. Should be here Wednesday.

Powder Coated Cases (already done)
Eaton TrueTrac or 12 bolt
4.56 Gears front/rear
Chromoly Shafts for 12 bolt
12 Bolt Disc Brake Conversion
Moser 12 Bolt Rear End Cover with Cap Studs
Reid Knuckle for Crossover
All new install bearings and hardware
Ratech Bearing Spacers

It's been crazy busy lately so I can hopefully get everything put together in the nexxt 2 weeks so I can put the axles under the frame and start installing the driveline.

Are you going to off road this thing, or will it mainly be a driver?

Martin

Most off road I'll see is forest service roads and camping. The 12 bolt is plenty. :-)

If it can carry a 1/2 ton truck dragging the bumper down a drag strip it can hold up to me driving around town.

Finally got the powder coated frame and axles back in my garage. Time to start putting my "Lego" set together :-)

Had some time to work on the transfer case and shifters today. Because of my adapters I've had to customize a few things so here are some quick pics of today's progress.

Because of the shift rail going through the adapters I had to tap the shift rail and use a button head bolt to attach it to the cable shifters to keep it as thin as possible. The rod is the only 3/8-16 thread I had laying around for mock up.
