Worth checking out. He can ask whatever, but money talks. There are good raw materials there for sure.

He thinks thats a beast!? :haha::haha:

But in all seriousness, it would be a good deal if you knew for sure the motor was any good, if it sounded like a cat in a blender, I'd run.
Ya for sure. I wish I had the cash now, There was a nice one a couple months ago with a 4spd 454 for only a grand!

Not to be picky, But im really looking for a 80s blazer with the 4 headlights, but if i cant find the right one then or if there is one i cant turn down ill settle for a 70s.

keep your eys out there. there have been a few good cheap k5's. i just pulled a bunch of parts off of a really nice 78' that had pretty much no rust. i think he finally got rid of it though. it was a nice truck. i was kinda sad while i pillaged it. it already was 3/4 ton too.

i saw that one for $1000 wih the 454. he posted an add almost everyday trying to dump that thing.

i have seen a couple of those 80's trucks cheap with bad 700r4's and one with a bad 305. they would be alot less rusty and just as cheap. especially if you like that headlamp setup anyhoo

funny...im converting my k5 to a truck

So i sold the 42s fir 650 cash....not bad since i got them for practically nothing.

Ya if it had a bad tranny its ok because i have a 465/205 setup already to go, plus my 1 tons will be going into the blazer....then ill sell the original axles and maybe buy a locker or doubler kit.

There was a real nice blazer for like 1500 that was on good 36 tsls that was marroon....to bad its not on craigslist anymore.

I would look for a 1987-1991 K5 with a bad TH700R4. They go for cheap with blown trannies, and then you would get the benefits of EFI.

It comes in waves on craigslist. Hold out. You should be able to find a decent one in that price range out here in Prius land

So after much consideration and haggling, I have come to an agreement with my step dad to buy his jimmy.

For 2000, what I get is the truck, a fresh 355, 14 bolt is detroited and disk braked and the thing has zero rust. Im gonna slide my 60 and crossover back under it..........FML:doah: Anyway im pretty excited cus who doesnt like jimmys?

Edit: the tires and suspension he sold awhile back but its lifted 4 inches on 37s

YES!!! That jimmy rocks!!! Isnt that the one you swapped stuff from originally??

That a big negtive on the 44s ghostrider! i wanna keep 40 under it untill i have a trailer. And dueling have you seen the trails around here? they are TIGHT, ill try not to kill it though.

x2. very tight. like a nun's....ummm well tight.

trees alomg with off camber corners with roots and rocks. very fun. i almost whacked the roof on a tree the other day with the xj, sometimes i cant figure out how i get the k5 threw the same trails without damage.

Have you ever been down hogs back? Oh man its knarly, just getting through the fiilters that are barley wide enough for a jeep is ridiculous! Then the 3.5 miles of trail consisting of trees threatening your doors and quarter panels, stumps on the edges of cliffs and another filter at the bottom. Its a suuper fun but if yo have anything longer then a shortbox yo can forget about it.

I think you should build some sliders that stick out some for a lil sheet metal protection :D

I did hogs back about a month ago with the xj. It was a tight fit. I won't take the k5 past the hill climb. I don't have any protection.
