Ive looked through a few threads but still arent sure... Who is running at around 4" and 40's.

How far did you move the front axle forward ?
Lets see how much trimming you had to do ?

Im currently sitting at 5" of lift and Id like it a little lower but arent sure if I can get away with it.
Ive got super soft Deaver 4" springs. 1" rear block and a 6" shackle(tension). Ive got a 1" zero rate in the front pushing the front 1.5" forward.
I can pull the rear block and front Zero rate (replace with a 1/4" place to move the axle) easy enough but Im not sure I can actually lose that 1" ?
I just want it as low as I can get away with..lol
I not a big rock crawler but I do hang it out on dezert roads etc.. Can install bumps to limit the uptravel but if youre always on them it kinda defeats the flexy soft springs...lol

The inner fenders are gonna go and I can trim more but Im sure someone here has already done it..lol

I've done a few sets of fenders like those. They retain oem inner fenders with a little massaging!

My front and rear wheel openings are cut similarly and I retained most of the front inner fenders but not lower ends. I was just saying it for the @NYCEGUY01 .

I have done this too. My crew is cut back 4-6" and retains the full inner fender after beating it back with a sledge. My K5 is cut back in the 6-8" range and it's too far to stretch the inner fender. I cut the lower inner fender just below the bolt hole that always rusts out.

I cut mine all the way around, basically removed all of the factory lip/flare (front and rear). I think @MAXMAN did the same. The rear of my fender liners are cut off at the big bolt , the front is where I cut a lot - I cut off most of the lip that bolts to the core support.

I also cut a lot at the front. Cut all the way up to the marker light, cut up into the core support and trimmed the inner fender front a bunch. Axle forward about 1.5".

This was basically my plan after looking at it for like 30 min planning...

When you get in there and start planning your cuts it sort of tells you where to cut. There are just certain places where it makes sense to cut and certain places where you reach the limit due to things that need to be there. I think its about 8" from the back of the stock fender opening toward the door where the cab and floor will start to get in the way. I also had to modify the battery tray lower leg, it hung down into the cuts I made in the inner fender.

You guys are giving me hope..
Maybe I should change the title of the thread to " Show me your fender cuts for 40's on low lift"..LOL

These cut maps are the basic shape / look I wanted but the cuts were a little bigger than I was willing to do as the front completely cuts out the liner attachment spots. These were posted by an old member named Yunit, his intent was a Blazer with 6” lift and 38’s. I don’t know if he ever finished the project.

This is my Blazer with similar cuts but I just eyeballed it - it’s got 7” suspension, 1” body, each axle is moved 3” towards the end and 43’s. (it now has 40’s with the same lift)

None that are a good, straight on side shot to really show the cuts. I wouldn’t mind lowering it maybe 2” now but I’m not willing to cut driveshafts etc so it is what it is. The 43’s rubbed a little so I’m hoping the 40’s won’t touch.
