I am getting ready to get my 6.2l build going, finally! If I remember correct, when running a banks turbo kit, there is a special lower radiator hose. Is that correct?

Does one have to go through banks to get it?

Are the universal radiator hoses worth the money and would it fit?

If its a "flex" hose with the ripples (I cant seem to open the summit link with my crap computer) ,I'd say avoid those if possible, they tend to strain the hose nipple on the radiator and eventually make them crack and leak, being stiff ,and the spring buried inside the rubber always "pulling" on the connection....with the high cost of a diesel radiator, you dont want that happening...

More than once I've had to just go to the parts store's hose rack and look for a suitable hose--Dayco used to have an illustrated section with hose dimensions in their catalogs you could use as a guide to find one off some other application that might work on a custom application...for a few customers applications we ended up using two different hoses and "spliced" them together with a coupling to get the right bends and diameters..

It is a unique hose - it takes a hard 90° turn immediately after it comes off the water pump to avoid contact with the exhaust crossover pipe. Even with that hard turn, there's not much clearance...

You can actualy get the correct part from Summit, and it's only $30:

The Banks part number is 94020 - I don't know what it would cost directly from them.
