Lq4 won’t stay running

Well now I’m seeing like 80-90 psi for the EP381. Don’t know where I got those other numbers from
I think you're quoting the max pressure, like "dead head". When working properly the system will never need more than 55psi, unless you add boost.

Something in your setup is leaking. The pump check valve holds pressure at one end and the regulator holds pressure at the other, so either one can be to blame. Assuming you've verified no leaks at any fittings, fuel rails, etc., it's also possible to have a leak inside the fuel tank. There is typically a hose from the pump to the sender outlet and a split hose or bad clamp can let fuel shoot around in there. Crimping off supply or return line is a good place to start.

Do you have a scan tool? If you're running with low fuel pressure and the other sensors are working right, the LTFT number should be going up.

No luck making it happen or no change when you crimped?

If you crimped it and weren’t able to build any higher pressure, then it’s likely the pump. The crimp should have slowed the bleed off of pressure if the problem was the regulator.

When you drop the tank, you might see an issue with the in tank supply hose.

Yep if it was crimped off and still won't make pressure the pump is weak or you have a split in the hose that connects it to the sending unit. If the hose inside isn't kinked split or damaged then it's a pump.

Sweet!! Glad it wasn’t something harder to fix. I decided to drop my tank today too. Body mount time.

Me too! Although I sure hate having to drop the tank. Just glad I had that extra pump! I hate waiting to get parts in. I figured I would need it eventually, didn’t count on it being this soon.

oh and fixed the fuel gauges too. The float wasn’t connected to the little arm connector deally thing-a-ma-jig. :D

Good! Sounds like it was a 2 for 1 fix.

Time for burnouts? Too soon? I never seem to get the timing right. :waytogo:
