Hello everyone, I am new to the site and have been looking around and there’s some great info wondering if anyone can guide me to an actual list of what I would need to swap a 6.0 LS into a 78 blazer I do have the motor already the pedal and the computer I would really just like some help in a complete list that would make it easy for me mechanical welder fabricator just need a direction to go in
I have 78 k5 12 bolt that I just picked up and I’m getting familiar with would also like to add factory air sorry I am all over the board, but I guess I’m excited with this new vehicle and I have been looking all over the site and really like it. Thank you very much. I’m in proof getting a 4l60e and 241c if that’s the best way to would appreciate any help and guidance

Lots of variables here, 241c is the go to choice if it's out of a later model with the electric speedo since the LS looks for a signal from the VSS.
You have to consider getting the harness modified and the ECU tuned or just going with a terminator and not worrying about that at all.
Exhaust, headers or manifolds and probably re-doing it all.
Electric fuel pump.
Motor mounts.
You'll potentially need a new crossmember depending on what transmission is in the truck now.
I'm sure I am forgetting a few things.

thank you very much. I’ve noticed some people recommend the dingo motor mounts. It’s a 78 blazer 4 x 4 stock so I don’t know what trans is in it. It’s all supposed to be original.

So if I use a gas tank from an 87 through 91 from LMC with the four outlet sending unit and pump curious how much horsepower would that pump and sending unit be good for? I’ll never get up there. I’m sure but I thought I’d ask. I’m sure the only thing I would do is a cam and intake manifold with headers other than that I don’t see me doing anything else but just wanted to know the answer.

You can get some cheapo ebay ones they work just fine. That's what I used in my 86. its a 6.0 swapped 4l60e with a 241c trase.

There many ways to skin a cat as they say. But If I could, I'd go with a 4l80e. Cause I've already had to swap and rebuild my 4l60e. But I know in doing so the t case has to change to a driver drop vs passenger, and that would also make the front axle to get swapped. It just depend on how far you Wana go with it.
