Had 2 exhaust bolts broken off 3/16" down, so I bought this because I can't drill bolts straight to save my life. This guides the drill bit perfectly centered every time.

I won't complain about drilling them anymore.

3/8 nut + mig welder + die grinder to clean rusty stub first .

Weld on let cool . Heat with torch and dump cold water on and spin right out .

And 8mm tap to clean junk from holes .

I have done so many I dont want to do them anymore .

But what ever works for you and gets it done !

Those are hard to weld 3/16" down

Nah just filler on up. Its not gonna weld to the aluminum.

I'm sure this is fact, just too chicken to do. If close to the surface I weld them, just can't bring myself to try on my own junk....

Won't stick in there .

And if real heavy corrosion I die grind the 2 to 3 threads off the head so the stub is not spinning threw the junk .

We know these bolts and holes are LONG so a few threads missing is not a deal breaker .

I'm in Comufornia, we don't have heavy corrosion here.....

your LUCKY AS HELL .

the factory bolts have yellow locktight on them . the heat lets them come out easy over no heat .

and some guys now are doing bolt swap outs every year to keep from popping them .

ls motors have exhaust bolt issues? cast iron heads too, or just aluminum. Never had to f with any of our ls exhaust manifolds. mostly cast iron, have some 2019 aluminum now, but nothing yet.

Back one on drivers side is broken on every LS our company owns, 3 of my friends cars, and both of mine.

gonna start looking, I haven't heard them leak but I can't hear for $h%^. 1 day I had a KW conventional cab in shop, 1 of my coworkers walks up and asks me where the air leak is coming from.... I say what air leak? He say you can't hear that ? Nope sure couldn't, found it right away was a big leak to.
