I noticed the hose I used for my PCV to intake has collapsed some and I can hear the air sucking though. TONS of air is sucking though (why it's probable collapsed). I thought I had a vacuum leak it was so loud. Then I pinched the hose shut and the sound went away. I opened the pinched part and the noise was quieter but I could FEEL the air rushing through.

Is that right? This is off the driver side valve cover, near the firewall.

Did you turn off your EGR in your tune or another words tune for the PCV delete?

Uhhh, hmm. I don't think there's an EGR and I don't know about the PCV. Shouldn't it be hooked up anyway? But more controlling. I'm talking if the hose was connected to the intake and nothing on the other end, it wouldn't suck more than it is now lol

I know I have read about your build but my brain is like Swiss cheese on the chemo that I am doing right now, so I apologize, what are you running again?

Man, some threads I get alerts and some I don't. It's tougher keeping up to date since the format change.
It's a 5.3 LS truck motor. Damn thing sucks without resistance. I guess there's really no valve, not like the old school engines. I don't see anything listed on RockAuto for a PCV valve. I'd bet my brakes would improve if it was capped off LOL.

I'm going to drive it around a little with the hose plugged. The valve cover will be open to air AFTER my oil catch can. I'll bet my braking will improve lol. I "think" my idle and return to idle has improved just messing around in Park.

Surprised i didnt see this thread before, mine does this to. Completely normal operation.

what about a restrictor orfice in the line for some flow but reduced to help a lot ?
Maybe, it's hard to comprehend this being normal. If so, than fine, but G damn it could suck start a leaf blower. No wonder these motors have oil residue issues in the intake. I see the newer valve valley covers come with ports to attach the PCV hoses to, so you're not sucking from the valve covers. I guess the valley would have less oil flung around and sucked up. Really though, I don't care where it's sucking from, it's a lot.
