Father and Son project
Bad news…dad was driving the Jimmy the other weekend when he noticed smoke…it was leaking transmission fluid onto the exhaust.

What would cause this?

The Ring that holds in the Servo was not installed properly and the pressure from the servo pushed the ring out and it caused the case to crack.

Mine did the same thing, not sure what caused it and I never messed with it, just one day bang no 4th.

Before It happened I was leaving work and did have some river rock hit the floor board. no idea how I was in 2wd.

How do you remove the glass? I bought some cheap black mirrors and they have already rusted. I want to get my originals painted/powder coated black.

These were lying around the garage and didn’t have the mirrors…we were just going to have some mirrors cut to fit…I know there is like four dabs of glue that hold them on.

Sad news today…Had our first boo-boo on the paint job. We were taking the soft top off to install the rubber on the cab when it sprung over and hit the quarter panel. But anyways we got the rear seat mounted in. Also was not getting a MAF signal and could not find out why. Come to find out we had missed the pinout and was off by a row on the ecm plug. Also having a hard time tracking down why the fuel gauge is not working on the Dakota dash.

Had that issue and it turned out to be the pump hanger had a crappy connection at the bull head fitting. New hanger and fixed it immediately.
Yeah I feel like we are at the point of having to drop the tank to take a look inside for further diagnostics lol.

Was also talking about changing the 4.56 gears to 3.73. My brother has a set he would trade. Kinda want to see how it drives with the 4.56 for a little bit before we decide to change. Right now 33s will be the biggest tire this truck will see.

I know it's not much different but I would go 4.10 not 3.73 if you're switching to 33" tires.
My truck did ok with 3.73 but I didn't realize how much power i was leaving on the table until I broke my rear axle and switched to a 4.10
