I'm currently running a sbc 350, a built 700r4 and ORD doubler using the figure 8 pattern 205 with triple sticks in my 1971 Blazer. I've been looking to upgrade to a LS 6.0 and might have found one with a 4x4 4l80e and stock transfer case. What is going to be my best and most cost efficient option for either keeping the doubler, switching stuff around to add a magnum box or forget all of that and run the current 700r4 and doubler combo? I guess the other options would be sell the doubler and 700r4 to help pay for the Magnum? Too many option???

Either transmission is easy to mate to either of our transfer case systems, so I'd pick the transmission you want first.

I'd highly recommend the 4L80E. You have the electronics to control it, it's by far the stronger of the two and it doesn't require any special adaptation for the TV cable.

So if I keep the doubler whats the best way to mate it to the 4l80e? Cause thats probably my choice.

Swap a 32 spline input into the 203, that part is easy and is a direct swap. ORD carries it.

You'd also need to plug the stock 203 bolt pattern, then slide the 4L80E adapter over the bearing/seal retainer on the 203 and mark/drill/tap that six bolt pattern into the front of the 203. All the alignment is done buy the machine work on the 4L80E and 203 bearing/seal retainer so your drill/tap work doesn't need to be super precise. You also should retain the idler shaft, a simple tab to hold it in works (there's no force on it, but it needs to be retained so it doesn't fall out).

There's not much to buy to put that together, works great!

You can easily change input on the 203 on a Saturday morning...adapt it to the 4L80
