Alright I’ll make this question and clear as I can. Can you wire up the connections for an ls swap harness to the bulk head plug that originally supplied power to the original motor. The plug I’m speaking of is the one in the picture that also has the wiper motor plugs worked to it. Is this possible ? Don’t mind that coil of wire at the bottom of the picture that’s for fuel pumps.IMG_6657.jpeg

I wouldn't.
I'd rather have the engine power separate and fused in its own block.

Edit: I would use the original coil wire or choke wire to trip a relay for the engine stuff. All the rest, cut out and fill the plug holes.

That's what I did.

What about the thick red wire that goes to the two post junction block?

I guess I am the odd one but I would try to get the original bulkhead to work by identifying the wires and matching what works.
Anything extra can go to a separate bundle but why not use what is already there and connected to all the gauges and power sources as well as accessories.
Engine bay wires that have been exposed to extreme heat I obviously would replace from the bulkhead out but any wires inside the vehicle, unless clearly deteriorating, I would keep

That was my thinking aswell. I like when things fit in factory locations. And also my thought was those wires are all already fused from the fuse block.

Also and this may sound weird but I have other stock harnesses so if I ever switch to a regular small block it’s as easy as just changing the harness block!

the wires and terminals can be removed from the bulk head connector. You can get the Packard male terminals and solder them to the circuits that match the female circuits you can use. The inside can changed as well that side is behind the fuse box and requires under dash yoga plenty of patience.

This is the goop GM used to control corrosion and moisture https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002HC396G?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1

Bought the goop, thank you

In true iPhone fashion my YouTube algorithm is just full of videos on how to wire the bulk head connector to an ls. I am not subscribed to either of these guys but their videos are informative.
