Lunchbox recommendations?

lockright has been the go to unit for dana 60 for years .

my buddy installed one and he was running 38x12.50x16.5 tsl/sx swampers . he blew a stub shaft out the end of his locking hub . we pulled it and replaced the stub shaft and dial face . been working good ever since no problems with the locker.

we did have to remove 1 side hub/rotor and spindle to slide the shaft out just the amount it needed to install it . there was no cheeting . . and you need a LONG roll pin punch set for the cross shaft roll pin . it only goes in/out 1 way .

I've had zero issues with my lockrite in my D60, D44 and D27's

Having good luck with a Spartan in my 12 bolt. Medium wheeling on 36's and it's held up.
Very quiet, can only hear ratcheting when turning in reverse
Put one in my D44 but haven't tested it yet

What year is your rig,axle?
Asking because I am considering putting one in the front of my 1990 blazer

The front axle is out of a 1985 1 ton dually Chevy. I got a Spartan, 4:56 Spicer gears & a install kit for just under $700 from East Coast Gear

Maybe a dumb question but here it goes anyway. When everyone talks about the steering with a front locker are they referring to 4wd with hubs locked? In 2wd and unlocked hubs a front auto locker should behave as an open diff. Is this correct?
