M1008 Cucv Ls Swap Cadolet Build, long range Blazer Bash 2026 prep

Converting my M1008 from 6.2 Diesel to LQ9 power
Pulled the stock shifter assembly out and I forgot I had to patch a hole so I'll cut up a old hood this week and patch it. I have two options in my head I was thinking of sealing and riveting it in to the floor and then use body sealer to seal it good. My welder is dead so I ended up sealing both sides with urethane and then put Kilmat over it to seal it up. My water pump started leaking at that point so water pump removed while waiting for new water pump from rock auto. The Bomba de Agua showed up today but it came with paper gaskets and I wanted metal ones so I had the parts store order me some felpro gaskets and I put a new T stat in the new water pump and got new coolant and I'll have it installed tomorrow morning before it gets to 102 tomorrow. 20240904_143517.jpg
 
So my Vss pulse emitter is not working on my 241. we fixed my tune and set my correct tire size to 37 and gears to 4.56 and the pulse emmiter to 8k but it still shifts funny and won't shift into fourth. So when I can I have to order the correct input for my spare 241 and install it and go back to the factory vss set up and see if that fixes my shift issues. Yay....

Since the lq9 is already a roller cam, any particular reason to use new rollers? Do the GM rollers have issues?

I installed the factory vss parts today in my truck. I need the chase a few threads tomorrow but we should be all good. It was super simple I pulled off the housing and removed the factory gear and installed the vss ring then put everything back together. I gotta send my pcm out to get the pulse speed set back to factory. Didn't know they reproduced those splash shields. I just tore a perfectly good set off my BIL's K10 and threw them in the trash because they were in the way of the shackle bolts.

Not everyone likes them but I don't think they will get in the way of future plans.
