I keep thinking it will be 4.56s in the Dana 60 and 14 bolt. But then with stock tires and a diesel that redlines at 3K RPM it will have a max speed of 55 mph.

SOOO

What gears did this M1008 come with?

Also what tranny and x-case would an 85 M1008 (Diesel) and a 94 M1008 come with?

Thanks in advance.

M1008s come w/4.56s. There are no '94 M1008s. Most M1008s came TH400/NP208, some had TH400/NP205.

The m1008 will have 4.56 gears, detroit in the rear & MIGHT have a trac lock up frt but doubtfull.

Trans will be a 400 & t-case will be a 208.

Very few came with the 400/205 setups.

Mine came with 400/205. I don't think 1008s ever came with front trac-loc unless swapped in by the pool. IIRC, they were spec'd only in the 1030s? Ambulance/Radio trucks I think? Whatever... Point being, I don't think they existed in the 1008 whatever the other designations were...

I have not taken the time to look it up, but that is the same info (all M1008s were open in the front, only radio/ambulance trucks had the L/S in the D60) I have seen repeated and never seen the BS flag go up.

Yep, 4.56 gears.

With those gears, no overdrive, and stock tires it will not be a very good truck for cruising the highway. My truck with 4.10's and 35's would cruise okay at 65 mph in Drive (shifted out of OD) but the engine was revving pretty good. Now with 38's and with the 4.10's the engine runs at a pretty good rpm at 65-70 in Drive.

if you have a th400/205 its a M1028A1, have you ever pulled your front cover? You should have a front trac lock, if it has the 205.
Cheers, rugger

No 3/4 CUCV's just 1 tons(technically they're rated at 1 1/4 ton but they're the same thing as a K30).

Nope, open D60 front, now locked. Guy I got it from got it from "said" he got it from the auction just as it came to me, and that it was a 1008. <shrug> Who knows what happens in the motor pool... I was just happy it WAS a 205. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
