I just purchased an M1009, and I have high hopes for this vehicle with many plans for mods such as: 4" lift, corn oil burning conversion (I've heard that the Detroits are a great engine for corn oil), putting 35's on it, and obtaining one of those diagnostic due-hickies for plug under the dash about the 4x4 stick. Then some luxuries like: KC lights, 5kw inverter, Stereo, fixing the heat, installing a dome light in the cab, and maybe looking at the whether or not it's possible to outfit the rig with some sort of after-market turbo. Also I'm going to try a dangerous little experiment by putting mounting bracts for my fifth wheel hitch, just so I can move my camper around the property. Trust me that set-up will never see black top.
I'm new to Colorado K5 and have been able pin point any threads that have been real helpful, now I'm sure they are on here and that I've probably got my nomenclature wrong when typing in my searches, but I could use some help. If anyone has any info or links dealing with any of my plans above or just tips on how to more efficiently navigate this website. It would be most appreciated.
I've no photos of my rig yet as everyone’s seen a stock M1009 before I'm sure, but once this piece of greatness starts to take on its new shape I'll post the pics.

and as far as a turbo set up you can buy a banks kit or find a 6.5L Turbo set up and its a direct bolt on! Also let me know how that Corn Oil Conversion works out for you! Can't Wait to see the finished product
