Machining with a .001 diameter endmill

WOW! I think I know why they are all losing their hair.

Let's hope they don't lose a hair into the cutter. Probably enought to blow up the mill bit.

It's almost rediculous that there is such a thing that NEEDS to be machined to micro. F**KING ENGINEERS! Just grinding the endmill is got to be tough. Would LOVE to see the shop they work in.

I thought every machinist used a .001" endmill and could hold a 100 millionths tolerance. :haha:

Cool. But I can understand. people that build custom 1911 handguns have to fit the parts, it can be as lil fitting as just 1/2 a stroke on a file to get it perfect.

The smallets endmill I have ever used was a .030 dia endmill, the smallest drill was a .014 dia drill. I have some .006 dia drills, why I don't know. Collected them along the years machining.
