Make a 4l60e into 4l60/700?

Can I use a 700 valvebody to make 4l60e non computer friendly?
Have a almost free good working 60e and a junk 700 to take parts from.
Is going into a 84 gmc behind a 91 6.2d

Hm.costs more than a good used 700 trans.
But probably the easiest solution.
Q still stands thouhg: can I convert my 60e to 700?

What makes the 700 "junk"? Some hard parts should swap from the 4L60E. If you wanted to run the '60, there are other controller options that aren't so pricey. It should even be possible to make a shifter to select solenoids manually. Somebody might even sell that.

Never driven the 700 just know that its bad.
It is also a4x4 unit. And I am putting it in a 2wd truck.if the internals would be the same I would consider making one good one out of the two.

I don't know if the whole insides could be swapped, but if you tore down the 700 and found some bad parts, the donor stuff could work. It would take experience and patience to lay things out and figure out what has to transfer with what, what the new tolerance should be, etc.

The valve bodies will not interchange, the 4L60E case is entirely different.

Okay got that the body swap is out but what about the internal parts? Use the 700 case?

If the trans is a 298MM style converter then the internals will interchange from the drums back to the output hub, pump and output shaft will not interchange.
