Making night into day

...I thought LED's were supposed to run cool...? The ad makes a big deal about how they are designed to run cool...?:dunno:

The three major players in the LED light market, that I'm aware of are VisionX, Rigid and Baja Designs.

I think that each of them has their own strong points, kind of like Ford, Dodge, and Chevy. The most honest up front and no beating around the bush company is Baja Designs though. They were doing some posts on Pirate about what makes a quality LED light and how they choose their LED's and drivers a year or so ago. I have yet to see another one of the manufacturers step up and do the same.

There is a whole lot to lights not just this one is brighter than that one, read up on them.

LED lights actually make a decent amount of heat, The housings and drivers for the LED's are what control that heat. When we were aiming lights with Baja Designs last year before Vegas to Reno they told us we would have brighter lights during the race cause they would cool down due to air flow, and the drivers would see the temp being lower and push the LED harder so it was brighter.

I was in the Saltwater Coral Raising business, when LEDs had FIRST started to be used.
I mean, like, THE DUDE that created the reef-LED industry, was a good friend.

It's insane to see how far it's come, in such a short time.
99% of the off road LEDs are a direct copy of Clive's ideas.
It's a shame he didn't patent his stuff.

He coulda been rich.
Essentially, did all the footwork for everyone... For damn near free. :doah:

The only reason that PAR/LUX, Lenses, Drivers, Heatsinks, etc., are even relevant...
Was because of him.
