He was saying that 400 hp is good with a single 3" pipe. Dual 2.5 inch pipe is quite a bit larger in airflow area than a single 3". I think that the dual 2.5 is what he needs. Its a truck, if he goes too big on the pipe he will lose out down low. I know mudding is all about screaming down the pit, but that's not all the truck will be used for.

Exactly what I was saying. I know he has a good bit more power than I did, but I was running 2.5" with dual 40 series and had no complaints.

Sounds awesome! I couldnt' sleep if i had to wait til friday to pick up my new truck with a 383!

Keep up the good work, can't wait to see the rest of the build!

Hey, I just noticed the lube you are using. Did you check the batch #?:eek1::eek1:

There's supposed to be a recall on a bunch of that stuff. Something with Lubrosity breaking down over time.

The batch numbers are printed on the inside bottom of the can. So you can empty out the can to reach the batch number and check with your local parts store or the second method is to take a pinch of it and place it between your cheek and gum..........still here? Then throw back a shot of lemon juice and slosh it all around and swallow. If you barf it's bad. So don't do that again!

Sorry, had to rib you about doing the king pins again.

Looks good. When you say you greased until a pop, do you mean til the little grease fitting came off? Is that what you are suppposed to do to fill things? I've always strugged with grease guns, and the one i have is hard to get off the fitting.

After the cavity is filled the grease will push out the seal, being under pressure there usually a pop sound when it does:D

Take a closer look at the tip of your grease gun. It has a screw on cap which tightens the 3 teeth inside. Unscrew the cap 1/4 to 1/2 turn and it will be much easier to remove from the zerk. A little trick is to put it on the zerk tight and when you want to remove give the cap a twist. Of course since the end is covered in grease sometimes that can be a pain in itself:rolleyes:

Hey Manny, I've realized that over the course of your build, you've allowed yourself to be criticized for the better of the build. Thats one of the best ways to learn. I commend you highly for the wisdom to allow that to take place. Even old dogs can learn new tricks. And of course for the contributions by fellow members. This looks like the hall of fame for threads.

Hey Zim,

I am truly humbled by your words. Thank you. I learned my lesson the hard way in life-through blood, sweat and unnecessary tears, because I was a hard head, hard-a**, stubborn, know-it-all, couldn't tell me anything, STFU, kid. It took a relationship with Jesus, my Lord and Savior to straighten me out. He has exercised great patience with me and has helped me to slow way down. I have allowed my heart to become one that wants to serve people in all different ways. This post is exactly that. A humble service to y'all, because everything I'm doing, I learned from y'all. That's why I try to reach out to everyone, offer them something, support them in their decisions, and stand up for what is right. I am not always right. In fact, quite often, I'm wrong or mistaken. But I try very hard not to mislead anyone, offer opinion on facts, not just my whims, and make friends with as many as I can.

Again, this thread is as much a part of you and everyone that has participated and helped, as is my truck. I hope y'all will continue to enjoy, and I hope to meet some of you out playin' in the MUD.

Thanks again, from a humble heart, the kind words you said. It really moves me.

Manny

Ahhh there you have it, I'm sure your making THE MAN proud, in your walk. I can relate as well, although I still need to work on my walk, I can appreciate what your doing in your life. God 'Bless ya Manny.
Definitely makes a huge change in your life doesn't it.

So on with the build. If/when I get to that point I will definitely relate to this thread to school myself when the time comes. I sure as heck can't remember all this.
