As excited as I am to hear my own truck run, I think I'm moreso to hear Manny's. With this huge mega thread and awesome write ups, you almost feel like part of the build.
I just popped in to this site to look into banner ads for RJR Off-Road and noticed this thread. So I figured I would chime in here.
The version of the tire carrier you saw flying out of the back of the Bronco on SpikeTV was a version that was manufactured by the previous owner of the company.
We found the problem to be in the tabs on the ends of the legs where they insert into the mount plates. When the legs were formed the tab is two layers pinched together. These were not welded and were falling apart. Since we have taken this product over, we are now welding that tab, and it does seem to be curing the problem. Hopefully all the old versions are starting to thin out.
Looks awesome. One teeny little suggestion. Do something about that fuel line! Routing it right over the alternator is not good, even more so if it's just the rubber hose. One leak and you got all the spark you need in the alternator. I'd hate to see all your hard work go up in smoke.
Ideally, I'd bend up a metal fuel line, but if you can't do that at least re-route the hose behind/under the alternator.
dang...she's purdy...love it man....makes me wanna go drive mine, even though i just got home....Very nice work on the motor man...yeah, i love people like that who are willing to explain their work and so and so forth....makes it worth every penny IMHO. beautiful truck man...what brand headers are those?????
and if i were you, i would get a clear view fuel filter, they look cooler, and i like to keep an eye on what's goin into my motor. just a suggestion though.
I never thought I would be happy for a guy wearing a cowboy's hat. The worlds funny like that. the shots where the sun is glinting off the corners are awesome.
it's gonna suck cleaning that thing but getting it dirty.....
