From what I've read, you don't sound like the kind of guy that would quit anything that he started. With that being said, why don't you take a few days off and rest. It will help you clear your mind and get your thoughts together, then come back hard and get it done.

Manny, hang in there. A project the size of yours has a lot of loose ends to tie up. Spending the extra evenings now is the difference between an extrordinary truck and one that was thrown together. It's also the difference between having little stuff break all of the time, or having a bulletproof rig. It will be worth it in the long run. You'll get there, just keep chipping away at it. Crank up some tunes, grab a brew (or soda) and enjoy it. I'm sure you've been waiting to do this build a long time.

hang in there man! you have completed something in a couple weeks what takes some guys ages to do. you can take a nap or something, no need to stress about money, you can always get more. you got some coming next weekend too. you have done something outstanding here.

take a much needed break Manny, and you'll feel better about it all. I've done the same thing, you need to just walk away, and after a couple days you won't be able to stand letting it sit there. It's just good therapy. And a talk with the Man helps too.

damn, why do u have to tease us like that? Thanks to you now i won't get anything done until you post up!!!:haha:

hahha, just kidding, glad to hear you got some stuff done today! Keep up the good work

Looks sweet! one comment about the shock boots, they do their job to keep pebbles and stuff from nicking up teh shock shaft (which will cause the seals to fail), but they do an even better job of keeping mud and dirt and water on the shaft. It seems like the best compromise is to cut the bottom out of them, so that they still protect the shaft from projectiles, but so that nothing gets stuck in there.

Either that, drill big holes in teh bottom of them, or clean them out after every bog.....

Just something to ponder.......

Is this one of those new mechanic's claw hammers I have been hearing so much of? :D

I also think you have way to much toe in, I think it will wear your tires real fast. :D

Your truck is coming along great I hope mine goes as fast.

Manny, I have the SAME drill!!! :eek1:

Oh and how'd those side bars clear the gas tank? Or do you have the saddle tanks in the frist place?

Hey Glenn,

My truck came factory with main and auxillary tanks. Each tank holds 16 gallons of premium (383 requirement) gas. My tank change works perfectly. The only issue I have right now is that my gas guage is pegged at 3 o'clock and will not move. I can't find the source of the problem.

The bars mount behind the rear spring hanger and the front cab mount. They do not interfere with the gas tanks at all. Go back and view the pictures in the installation post. You'll see it clearly.

Manny

Thanks :waytogo: :D

nice shackles. question: are you just going to install them in the stock location, or are you going to fix the shackle angle and relocate them forward some?

nice build! i cant wait to get mine underway, im counting down

yeah i feel ya on the lazy sunday, i didnt get anything done but spend a sheet load of money on the mud bunny at orielly's today. that pa system is super cool and i am really diggin teh dice on the shifter! lol

oh manny, that little bit on the floor is probably the worst of your problems. i got this spray on rust convertor if your really worried about it and it works like a charm ill bring it up next weekend with me and give you a bottle.

Great build up manny I have been watching it from the beginning.

One question how much clearance does the transfer case shifter have when in 2wd I was going to mount my cb there but I didn’t think there was enough clearance

MuddinManny said:
Clearance with that big dice cube is 1/2-3/4 inches when in 2wd. Regular ball shifter should be more! Tranny is a SM465 and I cycled through the upper gears. No where near interfering with it.

Hope that helps!

Manny

thanks i new it was close just couldnt rember how close

WRONG, i looked about 5 times. Why does my hw time always co-incide with new posts? I just chose not to interrup your posts....i was gonna give you a hard time about the extra mic clip, but you removed it before the last post.......

That wet sand reminded me of the burb i owned for a month over the holidays. Somehow, between my stereo install and removal (3-4weeks), the carpet pad got really wet on one side. No idea how, don't think it was a heater core. Found this out after can man decided not to buy the truck, and was glad i didnt' pass this problem onto another CK5er.

Keep up the good work!:wink1:

Hey Glenn,

That's nothing to laugh at. No, mine preliminarily speaking, is not that bad, but I haven't pulled the seat and the entire mat out yet. Frankly, I'm clueless on how to fix such a problem, especially with the Chevy, so now I'm gonna hafta do some searching here to find out what I need to do.

If that is your truck, would you be willing to share with me how you fixed it?
Didn't you do a write up on it? If so, can you link it to me?

Thanks!

Manny
