Hey Y'all,

I have a question. I have at my feet a brand new, in the crate, cucv NP205 transfer case. Never mounted, never used. I have a SM465 w/NP208 transfer case. Are these direct swaps? I've read that K30's, 81-87 all, came with 205's. 81-87 K10 and 20's came with 208's. I'm concerned abot spline counts.
Can anyone shed some light? I really want the 205 as it's a better overall T/C.

Thanks!

Manny

IIRC u setup should have a 32 spline output on the trans and depending on what year the case is out of and what tranny in was behind depends on the spline count there. the turbo 400 205 inputs where a long 32 spline where as the sm465 205 inputs where a long 32 spline.hope this helps u out.

Does the transfer case input gear stick out about 3 inches and is it female? If so, you have a late model round pattern 32 spline 205, which is absolutely junk and I'll take it off your hands for $50! jk If it is, you'll need the adapter which is scarce, but not imposssible to find(worth about $150 shipped), a shifter, and the later model crossmember. Post up a pic, and we'll identify it for you.

I have the adaptor for it and the 32 spline input. I got the 2 months ago, but it looks as though I'm going in a different direction.

Manny, come on where's the pictures???? :D ;)

Nice find BTW...
