Manual Locking Hubs

Ok then besides the ****y milage with auto hubs, are the really that bad for trails and light rocks. Not extreme stuff.

YOU DON'T HAVE AUTOMATIC HUBS.

You have drive slugs.

You DO NOT need a part time kit.

unless you have 5 bolts with star bit to remove holding the cap on for auto hubs that also have a 4x4 emblem on it then its not auto hubs.

aftermarket or factory hubs that lock/unlock by YOU the driver have 6 bolts to hold them on. or if some fords factory thay have 3 bolts.

full time drive slugs 2 styles

old first style 6 big 5/16-3/8 bolts/studs&nuts hold it to the wheel hub and its a block of steel to lock the shaft permenent to the wheel hub.

newer style is solid slug that fits in side the wheel hub and has a plain steel or chrome cap poped on in its place to keep crap out and grease in.

if you have the stock setup on this truck then you have DRIVE SLUGS !

The chance you will see a milage gain is minimal at best.

I have done several part time kits and no body gained any milage. What you do gain is 2 wd low with the hubs locked in. Which is great because even without a locker the front axle powered cuts into your turning circle a bit.

I have never put hubs on a 203 equipped truck but have heard everything from no lubrication to ruining your front axle, have no idea what it would do.

Are you sure you not in hi loc? My blazer drove great in hi with a 203 and drive slugs. If that front end is pulling pushing or doing some other thing you might be in lok.

See i don't know, this is my first auto locking truck. All I know is that I am in 4 hi unlock and when I turn really sharp the front passenger side wheel jerks the truck a little bit. Plus I'm really just going off horror stories I've herd with auto hubs or slugs waterer you wanna call them. I'm trust trying to find the best setup to run.

You have DRIVE SLUGS, not auto hubs.

THEY ARE NOT THE SAME THING.

Not even close.

Install a set of manual hubs. With them in the LOCK position they will work exactly the same as your current drive slugs. With them in the FREE position, the NP203 will have to EITHER have a part time kit installed, or be ran in either High Loc, or Low Loc. You can try it without the part time kit at first, and see if you think it is worth disabling the full time 4x4. I am guessing there is someone on here close to you that would probably just give you a set of used half ton lock outs. I have tons of them sitting around.
