one thing I haven't seen discussed is your current gearing and tire size. You're going to lose the overdrive if you go with a 465, and depending on your gearing this could be a pretty big issue for you. The nice part of using the NV4500 is you keep the overdrive and gain the creeper gear and strength over the 700R-4.
both manuals are somewhat easy to swap.
For hydro clutch you need the complete pedal assembly from an 85-87 pick-up, or 85-91 K5 (or 'burb or Crew cab). Swapping the pedal assembly is irritating, and time consuming. I ended up pulling the whole steering column out of the truck to get some room to work.
Cheapest option is having the 700R-4 rebuilt. Next cheapest is the 465/20? swap, and the most expensive will be the NV4500/20? swap. Either manual tranny swap will require new drivelines and many other parts...plus a lot more time and frustration.
