Like the title says. I'm getting fuel and spark, but she wont fire over. Anybody have some pointers tips? My truck ran fine before the swap, and I tried to use everything frome the parts truck I got. Something ain't clicking in my brain as to what might be wrong.

Engine needs three things to run.

Fuel, spark, air.

You don't have one of em, and it's usually pretty difficult to not get air.

I think I would check everything again.

Need a better descrription of what it's doing - Nothing when you turn the key? Does the motor turn over at all? Did you only swap the trans? Did you swap the steering column?

i did a manual swap and when i did, i almost cracked my dizzy off when i lowered the motor down too much. check if ur dizzy is ok, check for 12v at the power wire for the dizzy. if its TBI check if ur spraying fuel when u crank it.

No I didn't swap the column. It's cranking over but won't start. I am getting power to the dist. Almost forgot the coumn shifter is in park.

Check for a ground strap loose (maybe originally on a bellhousing bolt) and check the wires that drop down to the starter solenoid to see if one may be pinched between the block & bellhousing.

I started thinking that my timing might be off. So I set the motor to top dead center, and pulled of the cap and the rotor is pointing at about 8:00 on the dist. Shouldn't it be about 5:30? Funny thing is I don't remember ever pulling the dist.

well if they are that off then its always a possibility, if its getting fuel and spark then that is the only option i would think of. you could also check the firing order of your wires too.
