i am in the mids of converting my 1/2 ton to a d60 / 14bff with 5.13 gears. does the emission dyno test the rpm range or does it test by mph. i am asking because i have to get some of those import low profile street tires to get under the height limit

last I knew they went by MPH. unless you have AWD then it's an RPM test.

btw, if you have an 8 in. lift(as is what's listed in your profile) there's no legal way you're gonna pass for legal height unless you run about a 20" tall tire

I have a total of 7in lift and the inspection guy gave me **** about it might be too big. But it has been this tall for a few years now so I don't think it matters all that much. But my truck is technically a 74 even though the chassi and a good portion of the body is 85 and the engine is an 83, so I guess that means I'm emissions exempt! I love it, I have no emissions equiptment on my truck any more, including cats.

Any way yeah they go by mph.

Where are you guys located in Mass?
I'm in Franklin, just north of Rhode Island

they go by mph, have you thought about swapping in lower leafs and somewhere around stock tires for inspection and swap back to your 8's after?

yeah i really dont want to tear my truck apart every year to pass. i used to know a guy that would hook the lifted trucks up. so this was never a problem. he moved though. i live in hudson next to marlborough, like 15 mins from monster land.

Where do you guys usually go wheelin?

I have found a cosy spot along a strech of power lines in Bellingham behind the Market Basket on RT 126.

i have couple places. they are cutting to build a new development over in littleton. i got burried up to my frame on one trail, that sucked. there is a couple of trails in lancaster too. one is a mud pitt with no rocks that you can power through. i am thinking about cutting sone new ones too.

wheelin spots

it depends if you want to get stuck or not. i had to pull a jeep out on sunday. he had an 8" lift with 35s. you will have to use your winch on that trail if you only got 33s. if anyone is in my area and wants to go wheelin let me know. i can tell you where the trails are.

dont really wanna get stuck...winch is not hooked up and this is my first time so i just wanna get dirty and have some fun

yeah i got 2 spots for you. one goes through big puddles that are going to go up to the tops of your rims. you will have to climb a couple fallen logs with a mud pit at the end that you can get around if you dont want to go though it. the other is that devlopment they are building. its going to be really muddy when is 60 this weekend. not very tough but fun.

Hell Ill wheel anywhere with anyone as long as the drive isnt astronomical. I'm in Buzzards Bay on the Cape. Of course my k-5 is stock high so I hope some one out there will have a winch

too bad you arnt closer or i would slap a sticker on there for ya. as long as it passed emissions

hey 86 where do u go wheelin...u seem to be a little closer.....hey dirty jim how long do you think the ride is?

maybe this should be moved to the regional section... then figure out some dates/locations for a couple wheeling parties :D

emissions is the problem. i dont 39's will fit on the dyno. i am gettin 5.13 gears too. i just found a new guy today thats gonna help me get one. bigblaze, its like an hour from lynn to the trail.

the development??....i shouldnt worry about breakin anything right???at least not my first time out:D :D

this trail is easy. i see stock trucks going through it. once you take the side trails then it gets fun. you only break things if you believe in horse power over finesse.
