Master cylinder question..will this work?

hey there, right now ive got the stock master cylinder on my k5 (jb6 i assume) but am thinkin about upgrading. i wana run JB8, but dont to convert to hydroboost. so i looked up and found that the p30 vans have JB8 and dont have hydroboost (at least the computer at advance auto parts says they dont). my question is, will this thing work?

JB7 and JB8 masters fit the same booster... wether its hydro or vacuum boost. Neither will fit the JB6 booster - ask Rene (trustyk5) I think he ran into this problem.

The JB7 booster is very common on 3/4-tons.

The P30s I've seen are hydroboost, and mount the master/booster parallel to the firewall on a funky bracket.

so then basically i can only go to JB7 without tons of mods to make it work?

this m/c has a smaller booster fitting like the one on my truck, unlike the k30 JB8 m/c i looked at in the store. it appears to have the same type of mounting as mine as well. ill see if i can take pictures in the store and post them to give a better idea.

Tons of mods? By that you mean hydroboost?

You can put the JB8 master on the JB7 vacuum booster if that helps any.

if you have jb6 you cant use either 7 or 8
