Maximum size of tires for gm 10bolt axles ?

My friend was running 46's baja claws with a 10 bolt........

Yeah, he bought if from a dealership. He came up to work to show us, first thing I said was thats gonna break. Was not 2 months and it broke.:D

Broke it twice then went to a 14b SF...it broke also. He wised up and is now in the process of ripping everything out and running rocks.

i would say for a complete truck that hasn't been lightened, you're looking at 33s for peace of mind. you could run 35s, but you're always gonna have it nagging in the back of your mind.

a member here (cybersniper ?) built a cab truck on 40s with 10 bolts and kept it together, but it only weighed 2,600 pounds.
Cybersniper went to Dana 60's or was going there last I heard. He couldn't keep the 10 bolts together even with the light weight and "thoughtful" driving. Haven't heard from him in a few years though.

Yeah, he was all about keeping those 10 bolts and "you don't need 1 tons" but he kept breaking them even with a sedate small block and low weight. Last I knew he had steering D60's waiting for it. However I know he graduated and moved out of Michigan so no clue what's with it now.

i have 35x12.50R15 khumo mud terrains with 10bolt front and back with 4.56s gears and tru tracs front and back, ive snapped an axle and blew the rearend up all at once going through just flat mud at like 1/2 throttle and ive blown my ring teeth out just accelrating off a green light, not after offroading or anything ether, this was my DD back then, not floorin or nothin, normal gas and all of sudden clattering and vibrations as i went across  i suggest 33s but since u got 35s (aggresive ones at that ) id be prepared to be very familiar with the disposable 10bolt axles, sorry, my exp with them so, if ur friendly with the throttle and use just enough to get u threw what ever unless its nailin it lol then u should be fine, im in my 14bolt FF and D60 swap now, im going 39.5x18 boggers though so lol, good luck man
