The compressor engages but kicks off after a few seconds of operation- the truck has been parked for a year so there's a real good chance it just needs a refrigerant recharge. All of the AC components look fine.

It's got 3.42s and a 350 TBI. 125K miles on the truck. I'm pretty sure the PO installed a tranny shift kit- shifts are firm. Would this truck be running an NP208 or 241? The TC tag was hard to read........

Like Martin said, it'll have the NP 241. '90 was the first year for the VSS speedo (electric, no cable)

My Blazer is also a '90.

If you're not gonna lift it, go with 32's. They'll fit just fine, play nice with the 3.42's and it'll look better.
 
Doesn't look bad at all for your area. If you did nothing to it, it would last another 15-20 years for you before rotting off the frame.

However, I do see signs that make me thing it was repainted to cover up some rust (just hard to judge in pics online). Did you check the common rust area's with a magnet? Any sign of it being repainted in the past?
 
No signs of a repaint, Kenny, unless the painter was the worlds greatest taper. I checked all the seals and badges, and unless it was a frame-off resto, there is no indication that the truck was ever painted beyond the factory coat.

Carfax is also clear........ :woot:
 
For that price up there the pickings must be slim. Here in ca that amount would get you a really nice absolutely no rust rig.

Keep in mind that the population base in your two biggest cities exceeds that of our entire country, brother.

Oh, and feel free to find me one of these "California special" units this week and send me the details. The last rig I bought out of Cali didn't quite measure up........
 
Like Kennyw mentioned, give it a thorough inspection with a magnet. I've seen some beautiful looking vehicles here in rust prone Wpg that have rust patched by a true craftsman. With the pictures you gave, it's hard to imagine that visible rust being the only rust. It may be, but give it a super inspection. For that price, you don't want any major surprises.
 
Very nice I will look at mine see if I can figure out the purpose of those supports.

Looks very fixable. Although not hard that tailpan is usually hiding lots of rust.

You're wanting pristine, I'd pass on that one. But that's just me.
 
I wish mine was that nice, down south they're beat to death. Mines no different it's seen it's share of red clay and sand spilt beer and dead deer.
