Anybody have an experience with them? I looked them up on Summit's website and they are showing a BFG part number. So I gave Summit a call and inquired and he said that if it's giving a BGF part number they are manufactured by BFG. I don't realy want to spend a lot of money on a mud tire but want something more aggressive than the BFG A/T that got slashed a couple nights ago:angry1:

Here's the link to what I was looking at....

They look similar to the BFG mud terrain and the specs are really close, however the only difference sight unseen is maybe the sidewall strength. The local offroad shop says they haven't had any problems with them coming back.

I'm apprehensive to put another set of expensive tires because there is always the potential for them to get slashed again. Funny thing is I live in a gated apt complex....guess someone doesn't like my Jimmy.

They look similar to the BFG mud tires, and I think I've seen a few trucks around here running them. My BFG's do pretty good on and off road, but I wouldn't know how those Medalist's do when it comes to wear, life time, etc...

They are a decent tire, i ran the 35x12.5x15. The only thing that i didnt like is that they are kinda small for being advertised as a 35.

The maxxis buckshot mudder is also a good cheap tire, either work fairly good on and off road

Did the Medalist's have any balancing issues?

Well I went ahead and bought a set of 35's. They look good and were great for the price. They measure 34.6" unmounted but I'm not too concerned about that as most tires are falsely advertised, lol. Good tread depth. Now we'll see how they balance out. They are going on stock 15x8 rallys.

Aren't they just Mud Kings? Famous for hard compound.

Yep, not sure about hard compund, but the edges of the lugs seem as soft as my BFG A/T's lug edges. Reason I got them was for price and they are made by BFG and I have always had good luck with BFG, so I thought I would give them a shot.

So what size are they?Because I`ve got 33`s,so should I get 35`s to stay in that range?
But then again I have a 4" lift so they should fit anyway,I`m just worried about my gearing...

My unmounted Medalist 35's measure 34.6" and they are taller than my mounted on stock 8" rally used 35" BFG A/T's. However the a/t are mounted are some years old. Now the Medalists are the same height as my WORN 36" TSL's that are currently on the truck. I know the Medalists will squat a little more when all the weight of the truck is on them but they are going on a stock 8" rally not a 10".

Hey when you get your tube doors will you remember to get some pics of the latches, open and closed? Thanks

I ran 33" Mud Kings. They worked well but the sidewalls are a bit thin for hard wheeling. They lasted about a year and a half on a DD. For the price they're hard to beat.

Also, the compound is actually reasonably soft when they are new, but after the 1/2 way point they get pretty hard. When the tires were relatively new they worked great and stuck where you put them, but with age and wear they got quite hard. On the last trip out I couldn't get a bite on anything, but to be fair I only had a few 32nd's of tread left :D After I took out the sidewall on the first obstacle I was running my spare, which was an old (2001-2002 vintage) dried out BFG All-Terain (pre-KO series), and it worked MUCH better than my worn but much newer Mud Kings.

Ya I will.Jesse at Blazen promised me them by today, but not yet I'm hoping for tomorrow.

I got some Trailblazer MT radial's which are made by Michelin but don't have the Michelin price.
A set of four 35x12.50.R15 out the door price was only $530.00 at one of my local tire distributors and they've been very good tires.

I had my 35x12.5x15s on 15x8, when they were mounted on my truck they were fairly skinny and from the ground to the top of tire were 33.50 tall.

I ran 26-28 psi i think up front and 22 or so out back . I know that maxxis buckshot mudders the same size are taller and wider. The mud kings last along time if you rotate every 4-5k.

Both are good, cheap price tires, only dif is the maxxis is bigger tire:D

Update for a few pics:

The last one shows the unmounted Medalist 35 vs the mounted BFG 35 on a factory 8" rally.

Could you measure them both hight and width?
Are they both on the same rims?

Yeah they are both mounted on factory 15x8" rally's. I'll get measurements tomorrow, however, the medalist will have the weight of the truck on them.

The mounted Medalists with the weight of the truck on them are 33½" tall and 12" from bulge to bulge on an 8" factory rally.

Is there not a security camera set up? You may want to park (if possible) within seeing distance of a bedroom window and set up an infrared cam to catch them.

Either punk kids or truck-hating hippies did it...
