Michelin G-20 Pilote 15.5/80/r20

It doesn't rain in El Centro! It all skirts around south of Mount Signal and laughs at the Imperial Valley.

It's been very dry lately. Couple years ago it rained a lot though. It was amazing! Flowers everywhere, like carpet in the desert. You could smell it. I have pictures somewhere...

Spoke to Stazworks today. They seem to think the alum rim bead problem will be fine, but cautioned that inexpensive alum rims can break. Maybe that's good. Rather break a rim than a 'shaft and detroit. I'm scared. :doah:

He also said to air them down to almost nuthin' and run 'em around on the street to loosen them up and get them to flex. Interesting.

I would recommend this too. You can run those on your truck with about 2 psi and they will ttill look aired up(I had to run less than 8 psi on my crewcab with 38" TSLs to get them to flex, so imagine what it will take for these big boys). The side walls on those have 3/8 inch wires that provide the strength to the tire. going to take a lot of breaking them in to get them to have good sidewall flex.

My sister and parents never metioned a lot of rain down there. guess I'll have to start talking to them more often to see what is going on back home.
I do remeber the flooding that occurs on Imperial Ave when the heavy summer rains come. My mom delivered papers out in No Mirage and Ocotillo, so we got to see a lot of the flash flood damage regularly when I was growing up.

My 38" Michelins on 16" wheels will keep the rim about 4" off the ground with no valve stem. I'll prolly run the big boys with nuthin' too.
