MIG welding stainless

So I built an exhaust with 409 tube, Hobart .030 stainless wire, and regular C25 mix. This wire jams on the roll all the time and made it impossible to get longer continuous beads. The arc also wanted to wander all over the place, which is probably from using the wrong shield gas or maybe the machine had been drinking? Other than that, it seemed pretty clean with virtually no splatter. Not pretty, but I didn't find any leaks.

Yeah I had feed issues with my hobart 140. The .023 was horrendous! Definitely needed a specific liner.

The machine fed the wire through to the gun no problem, it was the roll itself jamming up, the wire kept getting caught under another turn of wire. I thought about trying to unroll and re-spool the whole thing to see if it would be any better.

Luke there should be some way to adjust the tension on the roll itself. If this is too loose, the spool can sometimes backspin causing the wire on the roll to loosen and cross over itself. I've had this happen a time or two. Look for a knob or nut where the spool slides over.
