On my 383 with maybe 750 miles on it the pressure is as follows.

COLD:
Idle (500-700ish) roughly 45
Cruising (2000RPM) 60ish?

HOT:
Idle (500) about 15-20
cruising(2000 RPM) 40

This is with 15w-40 oil, I'm running a standard volume oil pump a deep pan with the sump to match it.

I read somewhere that 7psi at idle is enough to properly lube the engine? and its a minimum of 10psi per 1000 RPM. So technically everything is good?

Everything is fine man. SBC's don't really need much more oil pressure than that for anything. I run about 10 at an idle hot and about 50 max on my Camaro motor. As long as the lifters are not falling, your fine!

Thats what I figured, just one of those things where I needed someone I don't "know" to agree.:D

on my stock gage i usually run around 60 but it dropped today(yesterday technically stayd up all night so still say today) it was about 40-50 goin down the interstate bout 2000ish rpms

I've read 20 minimum, and minimum 10# for each 1000rpm, so 1000rpm =20#, 2000=20#, 3000=30# etc. These are hot figures.
