Milwaukee jobsite radio

I have used the DeWalt version that works well and also serves as a charger. It did great for jobsite tunes. I imagine the Milwaukee is probably on par with it except it won't charge batteries. It will run off them but won't charge them. DeWalt put a patent no that feature.

The Bosch jobsite music unit is by far hands down the best I've heard, see or used. The Dewalt/ Milwakee is fisher-price my first radio in comparison. Almost all the Rig welders as my last few shops have the Bosch. It is more expensive, but there is a reason for that. there are also 4 -120v power outlets integrated. The welders run their gringers off the power outlets. a CD player and the radio gets better reception in stupid places that any other, no question. I am pretty sure it charges batteries too.

I've been eyeing one up for a long time now, Homo Depo sells them I've sure other places too. I just haven't pulled the trigger on the $250 sticker price yet.

I have had the Bosch one for a while now. Maybe 2 years.....I don't really remember when I got it.
It is a nice radio, and the power outlets come in handy. They only handle a max of 10A though. And there is a input jack for connecting an I-Pod to it.

Well I guess I really don't care about the battery use/charging. It will always be plugged in using 110v and I don't have any bateries to use on it anyway. Basically just want something that be a good shop radio (re: loud enough to be heard in a noisy truck shop, and have some balls on the bass side, even if they are little) I have been using a bose docking station for my Ipod, and while the sound is awsome for something so small, I worry about it getting ruined. Since the Milwaulkee has the rockford fogate speakers I figure it might do a good job to act as speakers for my Ipod.

I have a dewalt radio and i'm happy with it. It works best for me because i can charge my batteries with it. It also has an auxilary input to hook it up to an ipod or a cd player. The best feature is that it will run on the dewalt batteries so you can take it anywhere and have tunes. (I bring it with me to the field so i have tunes in the Hum-V.)

If its gonna be in a shop and not move anywhere you may be better off buying a regular stereo system. These things sound ok but they're not gonna compare to regular stereo.

Ya, I agree. The reason to buy a jobsite radio is to match your tools, so if you don't have Dewalt or Milwaukee tools you might be better off with a normal radio unless you are needing a radio that can take a beating.

The Bosch radio is very good like mentioned. I figured you had Milwaukee tools and that is why you wanted the Milwaukee radio.

yup, go buy a boombox..

I always wanted the Dewalt, but the charger is the main factor there... a radio that charges your tools batteries... killer...

never pulled the plug on a Dewalt purchase tho.. I run Snappy 18v and Mac 19.2....

Have a buddy with a Dewalt and it was nice, then another buddy got a Bosch, I liked it much better. It was louder and the outlets are nice too.

Then there is the tight wad me who bought a toolbox mounted two 6 1/2 inch speakers and a cheap CD Player in it and use alligator clips to hook it to a car battery.:D

do you have a link to dewalts charger/radio? i got several of their cordless stuff, and have been lookin at geting another charger but haven't seen the radio? off topic a little,do the cordless impacts have any balls to em?emmuph?

yes the impacts kick ass, buy one, right now! you will NEVER use a drill again. I have has several

I have a dewalt radio it kicks ass VERY tough, has rolled off a few roofs, was left in the back of a work truck on, and speakers facing up all weekend in the rain, still works fine.

the mikida one, i don't like it. It will run on old or new batterys but dose not last long and needs a ac adapter to plug in, and also no charging.

my bother has the millwalkie, it is good loud enough I guess, has a spot you can run a wire for the antenna so that is nice.

I find my dewalt gets better reception then most other radios, I would say get it but I am biased

I have one. I like the quality of sound it produces. There are a couple things I don't care for though. The wattage that it states is calculated when it is running on the V28 LiO battery--not plugged into 110V. Do NOT run it on an inverter or generator--you WILL snuff a part inside (done it twice). Other than that it is a great little radio. Another driver at work has a Bosch unit and he said he wished he would have bought this one instead. All that being said, if I were you, for a shop radio, just get a decent shelf unit-type stereo and be done with it.

Well I got one and like it pretty good. The biggest reason I didn't want just a plain stereo is incase someone knocks it off my tool box. The jobsite radio should take the fall and still be okay. Plus I can lock it up in my locker due to the size. Thanks for all the input, guys. If I decide not to keep it, there is a guy at work that wants to buy it to go with his cordless tools.
