I just found out about the Advance Auto parts closing around me and went into today, they were wiped out! My cousin scored a bunch of F350 parts for 95% off two days ago, a starter, alternator and both hubs for a total of $180.

Check out your local stores!

I stopped in Steamboat for some wipers while traveling in a storm last week. 50% off some carquest ones was all they had left for me. They sucked too. At least they were cheap.

Gotta be on top of those things. Brake clean and 134a were gone fast af. When pep boys closed I bought a ton of gear oil. Ran out of that and then 4wp dropped the Lucas line so I got another couple years worth.

I'll have to check my store:thinking:

So they’re closing some or all?

They just opened a big store in Paducah.

Here, it’s just a handful of stores. Probably the low performing ones if I had to guess.

They are closing like 700 stores nationwide. Lower performing ones. Between Advanced and Carquest. Shitty deal.

If they had that many to close they probably had too many.

What's impressive is that paying employees to sell parts at 90% off is cheaper than re-distributing stock to other stores. My guess is that they've already done a lot of that and what's left on heavy discount are dusty old stock and discontinued items. I'd be amazed if anybody got new batteries at 90% off.

If you can lose 20 stores per state on average you had too many.

Reminds me of Subway 20ish years ago before Jaredgate. They were everywhere. Company let too many people get franchises and saturated the market. Their product sold but they had too many stores overall. The economy and the diddler happened and viola, they closed a ton of stores and came back better.

700 was on chopping block . Looks like cali got abandoned by them .

My 1 closest to me is safe as they just purchased the building and remodeled and its now a store / hub combo .

Personaly i can not stand the stores . They just dont jive with me .

We are losing the Hancock store, which has banker's hours and is 1.9 miles from the Houghton store, which has normal hours.

If they have more than 1 in a 50 mile radius it's too many.
Some cities have 3+.
here is my area . i some are close others are 45-60 min away from each other . . .

and my local autozone is adding a 2nd store as close as the 2 advanced are on the left side one above the other . even the store employes are baffled why they are adding a 2nd store . they just need more employes at the current to handle the load .

I’m waiting for Dollar General to collapse.

Not sure about where everyone else is but in Western Kentucky there’s so many Dollar Generals it’s not funny. There’s 4 within a 5 mile radius of my house.

We have 3 DG's in our town, that's 5 miles end to end.

There's one up the way from here. It's between a town with population 127 and another one about half that size. Not only have DG's grown out of control, the same small towns are also getting Dollar Tree and Family Dollar. I consider them to be a bad sign for a town. Is anybody saving money in these places? I used to clean parts with $1 cans of oven cleaner, but now they're $5-$6, so it's cheaper to get them at Walmart. Actually, the Walmart reeks of quality after shopping DG.
