MNorby's Goat - Ibex build

Getting a few more tubes on and about to start on rear shock hoop/mounts. Can get a touch over 8" of up travel but might set around 7-7.5" for a little extra room for plumbing and wiring. Insert the back of the seat mounts into the frame tubes to gain some extra headroom too. I have about 5" of headroom myself.

Man, you are killing it on this addition. Looks really good. I'll echo what @AgDieseler said, you make me want to go the buggy route really bad LOL.

Got the lower panels built using some 1/8" street sign material that was given to me. The foot panel for the back seat I inset down to the bottom of the crossmember tube to make the floor flat as the frame rails are angling up back there. The panel under the seat I mounted the tranny cooler to and to get the cooler to nest well I made the panel hit the bottom of the crossmember again then put a bend in it then hit center of the back crossmember. I also notched that back crossmember for extra room for fuel and electrical routing (will add some gussets later). To bend that 7075 road sign aluminum I annealed the aluminum first with a rosebud to prevent cracking.

I think I would put a panel in there. Seems like it would help protect the seat.

Is that rear axle sitting at full droop in those last couple pics?

Bad thing about the rear panel would be dirt and crap getting stuck between it and the seat.

No, just with the small jack stand on low to give me extra room under the frame to work on plumbing. I'd say there is about 10" of shaft out on the shocks.

Ah, gotcha

I like the looks of the rear part of your cage. For some reason I was looking through your old thread on your first gen blazer (before you turned it into an S-10), and that rear halo and down bars are similar to the cage you built for that thing...in fact, I kinda copied you with the rear part of my cage too.

It looks real good!

Oh, and P.S., your rear part of this buggy looks 10 times better than Ibex's standard 4 seat buggy rear section....you should sell him the rights to copy it and make some royalties :deal:

She runs and moves again. Sitting a little tall here but only a few gallons of fuel and no gear in it yet so will address that shortly. Hope to test it out this weekend or next if it quits snowing sometime. Moved the cutting brake in front of t-case shifters to give more rear seat foot room between the front seats and it feels better there too. Working on a new hood still now. Also added turn signals and waiting for a high/low beam headlight to show still to make a little more road worthy along with some 41.5 PBR radials.

Not yet. I called earlier this week and the 41.5 radial 16.5s are supposed to be starting to be made the 15th and ship near the end of this month.

Same boat here, called earlier this week and they said they should have a big batch of 42" bias rockers in 16.5 ready at the end of this week (aka, today) and ready to ship soon...I was hoping end of this month too
