MNorby's Goat - Ibex build

Installed an adjustable passenger grab handle today along with working on the radiator/winch mount.

Got the diff vent bellows on today along with a safety strap to protect the transmission in case of a shaft/bearing failure. Looks like a little shorter strap might be in order. Will use a strap on the main shafts too to contain them in case of disaster.

I've seen those little breathers on some trucks on the trail. Where did you get them?

I searched around online and most places were pretty high on those for shipping. Finally justified it when I needed the bellows and the bushing. Might check the local dealers too and see what their price is.

I don't know why I'm being so cheap with shipping, I just bought a big block for Pete's sake... Like $8 is going to break the bank. :haha::haha: I think I'd spend more in gas getting to a local place than I would for the shipping anyways.

Removed the paper mockup gauges today along with added the brake valves. Will likely order a switch panel from 12vGuy and try to keep everything within easy reach with the harness belts tight. Will add check engine and water temp/oil psi warning lights above inner gauges too. Also got front shaft taken care of locally so I didn't have to pay to get the mistaken length shaft shortened. Looks like will have adequate room with the 3"x.134 tubed shaft. Inland Truck Parts did a great job on it, am very happy.

A couple months at the earliest. Hope to coordinate a time shortly for exhaust then all the big physical things will be done then onto plumbing and electrical. Still gotta get engine harness modified and ECM tuned. Waiting on a missing piece from my Liquid Iron fuel pickup setup so I can wrap that up too.

Got fuel tank pickups done and starting to figure out the fuel system plumbing with the help of Liquid Iron Industries, they have been very helpful.

Also started painting old wheels to match new rig color. Hammered grey tubing and black panels.

Started making a template skin for making real skins and to transfer panel tab location so they are symmetrical side-to-side.

And made a replaceable front bumper but on the fence about it still. Like the idea to protect the front of the rig from driving via braille but not sure about it yet.

I like the bumper idea. I think it would be neat to elaborate on it a little more.

Fill it with red liquid and cap the ends. Then when it starts to bleed... It's time for new bumper :D

Got some panel tabs on using a tool I made that I had seen somewhere on pbb in the past. Worked slick to make sure the tabs are flush with the tubing. Finally decided on the steering cooler and built some mounts for it up front. Also got battery installed and should harness brackets on today too. Also went by scale and as it sits today it weighs 3,520 lbs. That is without skid plates/skins, no fuel and no oil in transmission or axles, and the mini tires.
