OK I will be contacting Moab Rim RV Campark this coming week about 2015 and getting us a discount. I need to have an ideal of how many want cabins, camp sites for tents and if any one wants an RV site.

It looks like cabins can do four people (if I read right). I will be trying to get a group discount for CK5 BB 2015 we will more than likely have to pay by a date beforehand to secure the cabins.

I will also be reaching out to the Moab Chamber of Commerce since Moab Rim Camppark is a member to see if we can get any other group discounts.

So let me know who is thinking on going and what accommodations your wanting.

I'm looking forward to a cabin. It seemed a lot easier then my tent deal. But I was up for 40 hours with no energy trying to put it together.
 
I am down for a tent site. Not gonna say a cabin cause thats too far out but if we can afford it a cabin is where will be. Soooo um yeah tent site
 
Metro I will caution you on doing this. 5-6 years ago JMS and I tried the same things you are doing. When there was a no call no show for a hotel room in our "block" we got stuck with one or two nights worth of the bill.

JMS paid it and I believe was paid by the individual but after that year he and I quit trying to get a discount. This will be harder than herding cats and you stand a chance of getting burned.

I won't commit to a cabin in the group deal at this time but will probably end up getting a deluxe cabin as time goes on since my son has been asking to go next year.
 
I think getting the cabins or tent sites paid in full right away is best. Whatever you can find out Laurence would be great. Though not getting a discount wont stop me, but having the whole place to our selves would be epic!!

I'll take a deluxe cabin for the nights of Sept 9-13.
I also don't recommend more than two adults per cabin. This means one person is sleeping in the 6'1" bunk bed (with their stuff on the top bunk) while the other gets the queen. Unless it's a family kinda thing, two is max. Very small quarters. Parents on the queen and a couple kids is fine.
 
Yeah I would do the camping cabin I think before I would do the deluxe one again.

No room in the deluxe for anything. Bathroom takes alot of space.
 
Lawrence as long as your not committing to $$$ just trying to get a discount think you should be ok.

No money just basically saying if we have x cabins and x tents and pay six months in advance what can you do as a discount if we list you as the official camp site type thing.

Heck I have no money so I won't be paying for any ones spots. I sleep in my truck at the rest area south of Moab.
 
I doubt you're going to get anyone to commit to paying 6 months in advance just to get a discount. Too many things could come up in 6 months and stick you with a bill for a cabin you can't stay in.

We've already tried to get a reservation (so did Rob and Morgan and Chris). They put us on a list as they are planning on upgrading their rental tracking system to a computerized setup and didn't want to take any reservations before the new system was in place.
 
Don't know any details yet I was just using the six months as an example. On researching they do give an AARP and AAA discount. So as I said it is all about talking. We may have to do TripAdvisor reviews and post a few pics of a good time at the place.

As I said I just need to do a little talking I am thinking on calling Wednesday.

Damn, didn't even think to ask for AAA discount. I'm in those classes all the time.

Since I have been on the sleep where I pass out routine for the last few years I totally forget about reservations and thinking about this stuff before hand.

Putting a reminder in the calender for January to think about this again.
 
They even gave us a military discount even though I've been out since '99.
 
If nothing else comes from this, maybe we could at least see if we can have them try to get us all in that northeast corner. If we can set it up where they will put people there if they say they are with Blazer Bash.
 
These are the things I need to know! So when some say hi I'm Steve I don't say some thing stupid!!! :doah:Yea they even gave a police discount to a guy so I think we have a good chance.
 
Just to clarify my earlier point about setting up a group deal.

The hotels would only do a "block" of rooms. We would get a % discount if we filled X amount of rooms. The year in question we barely filled the block and when the one person backed out they wanted the room paid for or the discount went away. It was all a pain in the ass and since the town wasn't exactly full that weekend we ended up on the hook somehow.

So even though no $ changed hands we still ended up with a member on the hook for someone else not doing the right thing.

I would how ever go out on a limb and say that we will fill that North east corner of the world up again since it's only like 8 or 10 cabins. Then half a dozen camp sites and things are good for noise and parking for us.
