I want to upgrade the seats in my '88 K5. In the back, I'll go with a Tahoe/Burban 3rd row, but I'm stumped on what to put up front. I need something with adjustable height because my wife wants to drive it, and I obviously need something with forward tilt as well for back seat access. Manual seats would be ideal so I don't have to run any power to them, but I will if power seats are my only option. What seats would fit this criteria?

2000-2006 Tahoe, Suburban and Silverado have the built in seat belts and are the same seat. You would have to get electric for height adjustment.

I know that the 2000 to '06 Tahoe seats will work. The one that I saw had adapter plates made using part of the factory bases. I believe that it is possible to make something a little more clean than that installation m but it will take some experimenting and thought.
But yes, get a power lower to get the height adjustment. I have a set of cloth seats in a suburban that have power lower with manual back and lumbar.

I have found seats from a '98 extended cab truck that have the tilt and slide on the passenger side with power lower adjustment on the driver side. No experience with mounting them in a K5 yet.

@Coontail have you had success with getting the ventilation system to work in those seats yet? I have some out of an '08 Cadillac and I have gotten the heat to work, but not the ventilation yet. Mine are pulse width modulated, same as the heat, and no success yet.

Mine are also pwm but there are 3 wires instead of 4 so it's a massive headache to try to get them to work. I think it's the "Tach" wire they leave out cause the motors are already mapped out in the seat module

I ended up getting rid of everything besides the ductwork and glueing brushless DC case fans where the oem fans were. When you get rid of the module the heater pads don't work either so you have to install aftermarket pads and perforate the pads so there's still airflow for the fans

It's a little bit of work but it helps out a lot with back sweat during the summer :pimp:
