I just spent another $440.00 at Monster. I bought a TQ. 700R4 Torque Converter 1650 Super Duty 30 Spline and a Hayden Transmission Cooler Kit: 15 1/2" x 10" x 3/4"
All I need now is a new pan with drain plug and have it rebuilt!!
if your getting a new pan solely for the drain plug, summit has a B&M fitting you can install that is also tapped for a gauge port.
just basically drill a hole in existing pan and add it in, or you could weld one in.
The tech guys at Monster were telling me about one of their pans that holds more fluid and is 3/4" lower than stock. It alum. though and chrome. I dont do chrome( except that damm alt. I just bought). I would like to find a pan that has a drain plug and a spot for a temp gauge. I haven't done any research on the pan yet. Thats next though. Pan and temp gauge. Thanks Steve!
I just ordered my my "monster in a box" tranny rebuild kit and a new converter from monster transmissions. My question is that it shows a stock replacement converter as a 1397 stall and he recommended that I buy the 1650 stall. Does that seem like a good idea or did he up sell me something that I don't need? It was $40 more.
Also do need the special tools that they have? http://www.monstertrans.com/store/categories/Transmission-Parts/GM-Chevrolet/4L60E/Tools/
If I need them does anybody on here have some that I can rent instead of spending money on something that I will hardly ever use?
My 2 cents. Phoenix transmission in weatherford texas builds a quality 700R4.
Mine took a **** across the border in shreveport la. Towed in to them for 500 bonez and i was impressed with the shop...quality workmanship..and one hell of a transmission!
