moose season

out for a shower going back early tommorrow morning. seen a cow and a calf yesterday . got 2 and a half days yet. cool for your brother and cousin zim:waytogo:. only took one picture heart dinner you might notice we have alot off girls this year!

Most around here use hunting as an excuse to get away from them!

My brothers was a Cow, my mistake....he said about 800 live weight, 654 weighed up in my cousin's butcher shop.

seen a cow and calf friday afternoon decided too pass on the calf:whistle:!!! hoping for a bull,but he didn,t come. kind off regretted, he will be bigger next year!

whats wrong with photobucket!!! seems like my pictures go away. and when i log in there web site its always slow . been doing that for a while now:dunno:!!! can anybody see the last pictures,because i can,t it says sorry picture been deleted by me!!!
 
nope deleted it says....I hate PB since they did an upgrade earlier this year.
 
starting to get ready. had a culvert too repair ,so we can bring our travel trailers. installed our lunch room to today. moose are starting to wake up! mating seasons pretty soon. but we only hunt after mating season over.
 
down for a quick shower, waiting on wife she,s coming back with me. nothing down so far ,cousin had a close call. bringing her back wednesday. hope to have some good stories too tell,by then!!!
 
it was a nice week ,but no moose so far . i,m working tommorrow ,buddys are still hunting up to tommorrow. really warmer than usual ,woke up 1 morning to snow. a few close calls. lots off fallen trees,we had a big storm last summer. only took a few pictures. first is of one of my evening watch,were i install a chair on the roof. buddy had seen a big bull there but couldn,t get a shot. 75% of our hunting is on foot,lots of walking. so its nice to sit for a while. second picture was too show why we walk ,because 75% of the roads are like this. there was a fallen tree ahead of me. so i walk back to see if there were other trees in the fork i had just pass. ended up having to turn around and go back on my same route. plan was to scare any moose into the open,by making lots of noise.
 
well its time ! leaving early tommorrow, hope we make better this year. i guess i,m growing older didn,t have time to go to our hunting place all summer. and the worst thing is its only 3/4 hrs away from my house. didn,t see the summer go by !is it only me or does time fly! anyway nice week ahead!!!
 
well its friday afternoon i,m working tommorrow. my buddies are still in the wood. nothing down yet. our hunting spot is a almost mature forest ,fir and spruce. young white birch is there food of choice. but they are big too! and the moose can,t eat them anymore, to tall . so moose seems to like our territory more in the winter ,when they feed on fir. when the lumber company cut, it regrows and thats when the moose come back too feed. we have been hunting there for 29 years and captured 22 moose (i keep a record). other groups use to hunt there but they all followed the new lumber cutting . the other groups got 11 moose to my knowledge. now were almost alone, other hunters come and go but never stay to long to hard to hunt and not enough moose. we have 6 stands with salt block,most of our hunting is on foot lots of walking. now when they come back too cut in a few years usely moose come back. but so does more hunters! so for next 5 to 8 years thats when they plan on coming back to cut. we might be fasting. i hope it doesn,t brake up our group. were getting old we average about 50 years old. we have 30-06 caliber 150 gr bullets. those a good job for our territory. the guys that follow the lumber companys ,have longer shot some times well over 1000 feet. they use 300 magnum.
 
only took 2 pictures first was at 10 oclock when i left camp, it was white since monday morning.

the second picture was about 12 oclock about 10 miles from home.

no need to say i had wash the trailer outside, i just finish! the inside on sunday with wife!
