As long as its down w a bad trans, was doing some research. Common knowledge and info from u guys out there has led me to get some gear and go from there. 4.10s seem to be popular and seeing as its mostly my toy, Im leaning that way. With 33s it should work out well, The ultimate would be a 60f and 14ff, mind you Im new to trucks and any info about these K5s would be greatly appreciated. I did the body and paint myself, dad retired body guy so in his footsteps I went..interior will be handled after she can move under her own power again. Thanks for your patience.

700R4. Had some issues and found this site. Seems the stock gearing and 33s dont do much for trans life. Details - .040 SB minor headwork, cam, intake etc.... New member trying not to be a pain..

I run 35's with 4.56's and probably would have been happier with 4.88's. Since you have a 700R4 i would go with 4.56's and that would put you at roughly 3017 rpm's @ 65mph in Drive and 2112 rpm's in OD

33's and 4.10's would put you at 2713 rpm's @ 65mph in Drive and 1899 in OD

HM.. Not to sound overconfident, but that has crossed my mind. The motor will turn way beyond 6500 and seeing as its pretty much an asphalt truck(sad I know) sure couldnt hurt with OD.
now then, posi front n rear? Would seem to be the way to go...

Hello Scott..So 4.88s sounded interesting. Truck doesnt see much freeway, its mainly my weekend obsession, As you know Im VERY new to the truck scene..working through things as I go. Thank for the info (again) --- Jesse

I don't recommend 4.88's for your rig with only a 33" tire, i was saying that i would probably have been happier if i had 4.88's instead of 4.56's with my 35" tires.

Ahh the light bulb just went on! Got it now... I guess its info overload on here, one step at a time. You said right out that between the tires and gear ratio I was hurtin the trans. which makes sense, workin it to the point of failure..Just didnt compute..duh I should know better..but its what I had for tires and so on...
