the line that you see "attached" to the air cleaner is just sitting there, when I took the front clip off I put it up there so it wouldn't get hanged up.

yeah, eventually it will be narrowed. right now I am working on taking it all apart and getting rid of the stupid rust!!

more updates...
luckily I had 2 doors, a roof, and a tarp, it was raining out!

how do I get the steering wheel off, do I need a special tool, or how does it come off, I got it down to this:

I got the transfercase shifter unbolted, how do I get that little bar out now? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Also, how come the stock guages have those weird connectors, I never took a picture, but they have 2 bolts holding them in, then there is no wire attached, there is just a few bolts coming from the back of the guage, into a metal thing on the dash /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif weird /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

next day I work on it, I will get the doors off, and some other things, and look at the wiring /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

Re: more updates on project camok5

for the steering wheel, you will need either some type of gear puller or such or I went to the auto parts store and bought a steering wheel puller for like 8 bucks.

Another good tool investment is a lock plate compressor..If you ever have to dive intot he colume you will thank yourseld for buying it..It compress's the Black round plate under the sheel and allows you to get the snap rig out so you can take that plate out and replace the turn sig. handle and what not if need be..
I bought one and used it for that reason..Then 2 weeks after I bought it I had to use it on the trail to attach my steering wheel back on.. /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

Re: more updates on project camok5

Maybe under 10 IIRC...But worth it IMO.. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Re: more updates on project camok5

as for the t-case. that bar u show in the pic dosent come out its apart of the braket.

Re: more updates on project camok5

how do I get the bracket off then? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Re: more updates on project camok5

go under the /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif there is an arm coming from the braket to the front of the t-case. there should be a pin and carrter pin holding the arm to the t-case. put the pin and it should come out.

p.s. its a 208 right?

Re: more updates on project camok5

okay thanks I will look at that tomorrow. yeah its a 208 /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

Re: more updates on project camok5

just wanted to make shure it was a 208. i would say its an easy job but rust sucks, so i say /forums/images/graemlins/hack.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grind.gif the pin off and call it a day. j/k /forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif

Re: more updates on project camok5

LOL, so far the only thing I had to cut off was the bumper, hopefully I stay sane, and keep everything uncut for now

So are you going to remember how it all goes together?

Just curious, are you going to keep the factory gages or use aftermarket?

im using aftermarket gauges. I took alot of pics of the engine bay, and around there so I will remember when I take everything off, then back on, where everything goes. the interior won't be stock at all, so I dont need any pics of that really.

That's always my concern when I tear something down. At least it's usually not that hard to figure things out just by looking at what fits where.

I'd like to switch to all aftermarket gages some day and do a nice custom dash.
