New... A Jeep Rubicon stock with lockers, low gears, and decent mud tires.
Older... I like the first Gen Bronco's with coils up front, tho they had some small tires. OR a 69-75 Blazer.

A couple months ago a got to bash around in a 06 F350 crew cab longbed work truck. All that diesel power, 33" tires and lots of room. It was fun.

So I guess in my opinion the most capable off road vehicle would be one you dont own. So when you drive it like you stole it you will do more than you normally would in your own. :D

i've driven my Suzuki Samurai places i couldn't believe i got into. i'm not a horsepower kind of driver, so i was surprised i made it in with just "creepy-crawl" power.

it's been my experience that any vehicle you're willing to beat the absolute piss out of will go the farthest off road. i've gone further in mud with just a spoa and 31s then jeeps with lockers and swampers. i was willing to drive faster and harder and spin my tires more. plus samurai's are just fun!

man if i get in a rear collision accident im buyin me a sammy and throwing my 350 in the hoe. oh yeah baby. then see what the heep guys say. :D i would have to say that its just about the best of both worlds. huge chevy power in a light nimble lil rig. with tons of articulation. just would have to relocate the rear axle further back.
